Marketing - Do you ever feel like giving up?
I am new to marketing. I want to reach out to any newbies, like me. A couple of weekends ago I became very discouraged. After recruiting 9 people the week before, I was on top of the world. The week passed and not one of my downline was active, and still aren't. After being on top of the world, I found myself on the bottom of the barrel. I felt like giving up.
What did I do? At first, nothing. I allowed myself to feel sorry for myself, and almost quit. After 2 days of feeling crushed, I called one of my upline. He made my day and restored my hope and faith. He said to me, "Ally, if you ever feel like that again, call me, that is what I'm here for." Sounds so simple. However, his selflessness restored my hope and brought me out of my slump, because I knew he really cared. He told me that everyone has felt that way, including himself.
This is the essence of marketing. People helping people to succeed and reach their goals through simple caring and guidance. The best lesson I learned from all of this is that it will probably happen again, but next time I don't have to wallow in the feelings because now I know there is a way out of the slump.
Marketing, I have learned is all about trial and error throughout the learning curve. If you walk through it and don't give up you will learn lessons and find yourself one step closer to success.
So, if you're a newbie, learn from my mistake, and no matter what - Don't Give Up.
To your continued success!!

"Don't simply retire to something; have something to retire to." - Harry Emerson Fosdick
"Don't simply retire to something; have something to retire to." - Harry Emerson Fosdick
What does this statement mean to me? When I think about retiring I don't think entirely about money, Sure, that's a nice goal. What I think about is personal freedom. To be able to do what I want, when I want, and to have the means to do so, to be fulfilled and to live a fulfilling contented lifestyle.
When I retire, I want abundance in my life. After all, this is what God wants for me. What do I consider to be abundance? A strong relationship with God, wonderful friends, the means required to travel and a to live a comfortable lifestyle and to help others, by sharing my experience, strength and hope. Hope is also know as an acronym for Hearing Other People's Experiences, therefore being able to help others as a result of your life's lessons. I want life long friends and to have reached my goal of seeing all the places I want to travel to. I don't have a family, so I already have freedom to some degree. However, I want the kind of freedom that allows me to reach these goals without killing myself in the process, by working a conventional job 50 hours a week for the next 20 years.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind working hard, but I want to accomplish this while loving my work. I don't believe in coincidences. I believe God lead me to a work at home career because it has always been something I have wanted to do. I have already owned my primary business for over 6 years and I love the freedom that working for myself entails. I don't have to answer to anyone but myself. If I am uncomfortable with taking on a new client, I can decide to say no. I don't have to compromise myself by settling for less. A conventional job doesn't allow that. If you were to say no to your boss, you would quickly find yourself out of a job. I love how it affords me the time do the things I enjoy doing.
I never realized or fathomed, even for a moment, how exciting network marketing would be. I love the work. I can't wait to get home every day from my primary job, which I love, so that I can start networking and marketing. I never for a moment could have imagined how meeting new people and building relationships would be so fulfilling. I have learned so much about myself and my personal growth is coming about at a very rapid pace. My self-esteem and confidence has reached heights I never thought possible.
I believe everything happens for a reason...to learn life's lessons and to grow spiritually, personally and emotionally, so that you can pay it forward. I believe when you give of yourself, selflessly, you will attain abundance in your life. I think that is the essence of network marketing. So that, my friends, is my "why" and my long term goal. Once I have attained that I will be ready to to retire, and happily do so.
